$2.749

That's what I paid per gallon for a tank of gas this morning. How sweet is that?! But, that price reflects a one-time fuel discount I earned from my grocery shopping "club card." That's the cheapest I've paid since I can remember. And, as pumps are probably reflecting around the country, the dollar amount continues to fall around Anchorage.

But I think about Nome. To fill up the RAV4 there would have cost me $22 more. They're fixed at $5.29 gallon for this year because an entire year's supply is purchased, barged in and used. Their fuel was purchased before the price of oil began dropping. So they can't enjoy the pocketbook break the rest of us are experiencing. It's nearly a 2:1 ratio right now. It was a bittersweet celebration at the pump in Eagle River, Alaska.
